- Wali (Guardian): The bride must have a guardian who approves the marriage
- Witnesses: At least two trustworthy witnesses must be present
- Mahr (Dowry): The groom must give a mahr to the bride
- Offer and Acceptance: There must be a clear offer and acceptance
