What is Tawheed and what are its categories?
Tawheed is the most fundamental concept in Islam. It refers to the oneness and uniqueness of Allah in His Lordship, worship, and names and attributes.
Categories of Tawheed
Tawheed al-Rububiyyah (Lordship): Affirming that Allah alone is the Creator, Sustainer, and Manager of all affairs.
Tawheed al-Uluhiyyah (Worship): Directing all acts of worship to Allah alone.
Tawheed al-Asma wa al-Sifat (Names and Attributes): Affirming the names and attributes that Allah has affirmed for Himself without distortion or denial.
Understanding Tawheed is essential because it forms the basis of a Muslim's relationship with Allah and determines the validity of all acts of worship.
