Rights of Parents in Islam

Honoring and respecting parents is one of the greatest obligations in Islam, mentioned alongside the worship of Allah in the Quran.

Rights of Parents

• Obedience in all matters that do not involve disobedience to Allah
• Speaking to them with kindness and respect
• Providing for them financially when they are in need
• Making supplication for them
• Maintaining ties with their friends and relatives

Disobedience to parents (uquq al-walidayn) is considered one of the major sins in Islam.
